History of our Centre

Moscow State University of Psychology & Education has founded «Play and Toys» research Centre in 2004. Since the very beginning of the Centre it is headed by professor of Psychology Elena Smirnova. In 2008 "Toys and Play" research centre was granted with the name and status of municipal. Currently Centre promotes toys and play scientific studies, play materials expertise and educational  programms for professional educators and students. 
The main task of the centre is to develop a concept and methods of examining toys by expert psychologists and educationalists and to evaluate the developmental qualities of concrete toys.  Expert examination is based on the possibility for toys to become a real psychological tool and, consequently, to promote the development of not only merely specific psychological functions and abilities but the child personality as a whole.
